Where:

Grayson Highlands State Park

829 Grayson Highland Ln, Mouth of Wilson, VA 24363  - Note: There is a $10 park entrance fee per car. Bring cash!

Weekend Schedule:

Races will start and finish at the Visitors Center within the park. There is only one entrance to the park. Upon entering, head straight to the top, don't take any turns. PLEASE WATCH FOR RUNNERS ON THE ROAD! THEY WILL BE CROSSING, DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY!

Friday May 6, 2022 

Packet pick up for everyone, 50 Mile, 50k and 1/2 Marathon 4:7:30PM

WHERE:

ON TOP OF WHITETOP MOUNTAIN! aka 5,000 ft high with an epic view, this might be the most beautiful packet pick up we've ever had!!

Directions from Whitetop Mountain Road aka VA 600. Turn left (coming from Whitetop, VA) or RIGHT coming from Marion, VA onto Mud creek Ln aka onto the gravel road that says to Whitetop Mountain. Literally stay on the main road until you pop out of the woods above the treeline. If its bad weather we'll be in the tree line, either way just get to that gravel road and drive until you see us.

 

Note: this is not within the state park, not where the race happens just an epic view and centrally located between damascus and Grayson highlands. All part of the experience!

All races start and finish at Grayson Highlands Visitor Center. Upon entering the state park, drive all the way to the top until it dead ends into the Start/Finish area.

*WHITETOP MOUNTAIN is 5,000 ft high with an epic view, this might be the most beautiful packet pick up we've ever had! Please note this is not within the state park, and not where the race happens, it is just an incredible view and centrally located between Damascus and Grayson Highlands. All part of the experience. Drop Bags:

Bring your drop bags on race day and not to Packet Pickup. You are allowed a 1 gallon freezer style ziplock bag. Please be sure to label your drop bag with your name, bib number and drop location/aid station.  The drop bags will not be returned so please use them for fuel & other items that can be thrown out or plan on carrying them items with you the duration of the race.

15 hour cut off with individual aid station cut off times.

There is one aid stations at mile 8 for the half marathon. Please plan your water and food accordingly in your vest!

 

Note: This is not a hiker friendly course!! You can be back of the pack but you must do some running to keep on pace to finish under this time. Click Here for Course Maps & Cutoffs.

 

Aid Stations:

Normal aid stations for the 50 mile & 50k are fully stocked with food and fluids. Coke, Ginger Ale, Gatorade, bananas, PB&J, Quesadillas, etc. Lite Aid stations will have Fluids and small bites so make sure you're carrying enough from major aid stations!

Aid stations for the Half will have Gatorade, water & bananas

Crew Acess

For 2022 crew access is limited to the 50 Mile runners only

​

 All the rules we hate to have to say but you gotta know... 
* You must wear your bib on the front of your body! We have to see your bib number - this is how we track and time runners in and out of aid stations and at the finish.

* No Pacers / Safety Runners

* No drop bags for the Half

* No littering 

* No cutting course or switchbacks - Please stay on course

* If you drop from the race you MUST notify the nearest AS captain
